US FDA nagbabala: ‘Benadryl Challenge’ sa TikTok nakamamatay

Nagbabala ang US Food and Drug Administration na ang nauusong “Benadryl Challenge” sa TikTok ay maaaring makamatay.

Inilabas ng US FDA ang pahayag nitong Huwebes matapos mapabalitang may mga teenager sa US na isinugod sa ospital matapos ma-overdose ng Benadryl (diphenhydramine), isang klase ng gamot sa allergy.

Isang 15-anyos na babae sa Oklahoma ang napabalitang namatay.

Sinabi ng ahensiya na ang Benadryl, na mabibiling walang reseta sa mga botika, ay maaaring magdulot ng malubhang problema sa puso, seizure, coma at maging kamatayan.

“We are aware of news reports of teenagers ending up in emergency rooms or dying after participating in the ‘Benadryl Challenge’ encouraged in videos posted on the social media application TikTok,” anang US FDA.

Tinanggal na ng TikTok, isang popular na social media app, ang mga videos na kaugnay sa “Benadryl Challenge.”

Walang pahayag ang Philippine Food and Drug Administration hinggil dito.
