HABANG dumarami ang nag-isiip na magkaroon ng sariling taniman sa urban areas, binuhay ni Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar ang kanyang panukalang gulayan sa paaralan.
Sa ilalim ng House bill 6472, magkakaroon ng sariling backyard farm ang bawat eskuwelahan kung saan nito kukunin ang ilan sa kanilang pangangaialngan sa pagkain.
“It is important to introduce the concept of cultivating their own campus farms inside schools to students at a very young age as more people are shifting to a new normal in this time of pandemic,” ani Villar.
Hihimukin din ng panukala ang mga pribadong establisyemento na magtayo ng sarili nilang taniman o tutulong sa pagtatayo nito kapalit ng incentives na ibibigay ng lokal na pamahalaan.
“The concepts of urban agriculture and vertical farming will be integrated in the curriculum of both public and private educational institutions.”
Sinabi ni Villar na mayroong positibong epekto sa isang indibidwal ang pagtatanim batay sa mga pag-aaral.
“(Researchers noted) numerous positive effects” of garden-based learning among students compared with those without campus gardens,” saad ng lady solon.
