Magna carta for workers in informal economy umusad na

INAPRUBAHAN ng House committee on labor and employment ang pagbalangkas ng panukalang Magna Carta for Workers in Informal Economy upang maproteksyunan at matulungan ang mga ito.

Ayon kay 1Pacman Rep. Enrico Pineda, chairman ng komite, pitong panukala ang pag-iisahin ng Subcommittee on Workers of Special Concerns na pamumunuan ni Eastern Samar Rep. Maria Fe Abunda.

Sinabi ni Pineda na maraming manggagawa mula sa informal economy ang hindi natulungan sa ilalim ng Special Amelioration Program at iba pang programa ng gobyerno na tinatanggap ng mga nasa formal sector.

Iminungkahi naman ng Department of Labor and Employment na makabubuti kung magkakaroon ng polisiya na nakatuon upang kilalanin ang ambag ng informal sector sa ekonomiya at bansa.

Sinabi naman ni House Deputy Speaker Evelina Escudero dapat magkaroon ng program development ang gobyerno sa mga ito bukod pa sa pagbibigay sa kanila ng mga benepisyo gaya ng social security at medical health insurance coverage, work protection, at pagsasama sa kanila sa local at national statistics para sa paggawa ng polisiya para sa kanilang sektor.

Ayon naman kay TUCP Rep. Raymond Mendoza kasama sa informal economy ang mga magsasaka, mangingisda at domestic workers.
