UMAPELA si House Deputy Majority Leader Bernadette Herrera sa mga bangko na palawigin ang pagbabayad ng mga utang ng mga negosyante na hindi nakapagbukas ng negosyo dahil sa quarantine.

Hiniling ni Herrera sa mga bangko na hayaan ang mga ito na ma-renegotiate ang utang o bigyan ng dagdag na isang taon ang pagbabayad ng utang.

“Allowing businesses adversely impacted by the COVID-19 crisis to negotiate for restructuring and extend their loans by at least one year would afford them more time to recover and repay their loan at a later time,” ani Herrera.

Sinabi ni Herrera na malaking tulong sa mga micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), na naapektuhan ng community quarantine ang pagpapalawig ng panahon ng kanilang babayaran.

“We appeal to banks and other financial institutions to display greater empathy and compassion toward businesses that are bearing the brunt of the COVID-19 related economic fallout,” saad ng lady solon.

Hindi umano maitatanggi na magsasara ang mga kompanyang ito o kaya ay magbabawas ng mga empleyado kapag walang tulong na natanggap.

Sa kasalukuyan ang inaalok ng mga bangko ay 60-araw na grace period o panahon lamang kung kailan nagsara ang mga negosyo dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.

Sa bansa ay 99 porsyento ng mga negosyo ay mga MSMEs kung saan pumapasok ang mahigit 5.7 milyong empleyado.
