Daming pondo ng PhilHealth, ayaw sagutin lahat ng gastos ng COVID-19 patients–Defensor

MAY pondo umano ang Philippine Health Insurance Corp. para bayaran ang lahat ng gastusin sa ospital ng pasyenteng nahawa ng coronavirus disease.

Ayon kay AnaKalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor, vice chairman ng House committee on health, na hindi na kailangan pang lagyan ng limitasyon ng PhilHealth ang babayaran sa ospital ng mga COVID-19 patients.

Ngayong taon ay P104 bilyon ang inaasahang kontribusyon na makokolekta ng PhilHealth sa mga miyembro nito bukod pa sa P71.3 bilyong subsidy na bigay ng gobyerno.

Noong 2018, nakapagtala ang PhilHealth ng P118 bilyong kita at nakapagtala ng P8 bilyong net profit.

“Clearly, it has the financial capacity to shoulder the full cost of hospitalization of Covid-19 patients,” ani Defensor.

Nagbabala rin si Defensor na baka may mga mahihirap na hindi na pumunta sa ospital dahil sa takot sa gastos.

“That is the last thing President Duterte and we in Congress want in passing the Bayanihan to Heal As One Law. We will not heal as one in fighting this pandemic if we leave out the poor,” dagdag pa ng solon.
