MATUTUTUKAN na ni 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray ang ginagawa niyang libro na may titulong “Conquering Your Universe”.

Ngayong tapos na ang kanyang reign bilang Miss Universe magkakaroon na siya ng sapat na panahon para tapusin ang libro sa tulong na rin ng ABS-CBN Books. Sa ginanap na contract signing ni Catriona nitong Huwebes ay nabanggit niyang matagal na niya itong concept kaya nu’ng nalaman ito ng ABS-CBN Publishing ay kaagad na nila itong kinontrata.

Present sa pagpirma ng beauty queen ng kontrata sina Ernie Lopez, President at CEO ng ABS-CBN Publishing Inc., ABS-CBN Books Head Mark Yambot, Cornerstone Talent Management Vice President Jeff Vadillo at Cornerstone Talent Management President and CEO Erickson Raymundo.

Ang “Conquering Your Universe” ay naglalaman ng, “It’s a collection of lessons that I’ve learned from the past couple of years I feel really allowed me to achieve what I did, things that I learned from a personal perspective, things that I learned in regards to dealings or learning from others and also rippling about. 

“I want it to be relatable it’s not just about pageantry. This lessons can be applicable to anyone from whatever walk of life. Something to contribute to the community,” aniya pa. 

Ilo-launch ito sa unang quarter ng 2020, base sa pahayag ni Jeff ng Cornerstone. Bukod sa libro, maglalabas din ng music album ang dalaga. Alam naman ng lahat na isa ring singer ang ating beauty queen kaya magiging certified recording artist na siya next year.

“It’s all original songs, so mga second quarter of 2020 pa ‘yun, unahin muna ang libro,” say ulit ni Jeff.

 “I’ll definitely pursuing my love for music, and hoping to give you all some new music next year. Very, very excited for future projects that we have in the pipeline. Me and my management, Cornerstone, will be starting tomorrow na po. So far the next two weeks I’m gonna work on a lot of exciting things and it will be revealed to you guys very very soon,” pahayag pa ng dalaga.

Ayon pa kay Catriona, simula pa noong 18 years old siya ay pinapangarap na niyang maging singer pero lagi itong naisasantabi, “Actually now that I get to pursue it, it’s like, oh my goodness, it’s like another dream that I’m able to see in my view,” 

Nabanggit din ng dalaga na may offer din sa kanya na gumawa ng teleserye kaya tinanong namin kung sino ang gusto niyang maging leading man sa kanyang first acting project.

Ngumiti muna nang pagkatamis-tamis ang dalaga sabay sabing, “it’s always a question of height ‘no? Ha-hahaha. Kasi 5’10 ako, but I feel that I don’t have a lot of experience in acting so I would really want to be given the opportunity to learn from seasoned actors. And honestly, I’m not very particular naman po, because I need more experience.”

Okay ba sa kanyang maging parter si Sam Milby? “Well at least I know him from church. So I wouldn’t mind. Ha-hahaha! Puwede,” tumatawa uling sabi ni Catriona.

In fairness, iisa ang narinig naming feedback nu’ng tanungin namin ang ilang katoto tungkol sa posibleng pagtatambal nina Catriona at Sam – “perfect combination.”

Kung matatandaang, naging usap-usapan ang pagkaka-link ni Catriona kay Sam nang lumabas sa social media ang litrato ng dalawa na magkasama sa New York. Ilang linggo ang nakalipas, kinumpirma na ng beauty queen na break na sila ng kanyang boyfriend that time na si Clint Bondad.

Sa tanong kung ano ang maipapayo niya sa bagong grupo na hahawak sa Miss Universe 2020, binigyang-diin ng dalaga ang pagpili sa mga kandidata lalo na sa “age of social media”, “I feel like they really need to give the girls a lot of opportunity to tell their story in a very authentic way. ‘Cause I feel like with us wanting to share more on social media, and wanting to make more content in social media for things like a pageant, it can feel a little manufactured at times.

“And I feel like if you give the girls an opportunity to really share who they are in whatever way…I would love to learn about the girls, why are they there, who are they, what are they passionate about,” aniya pa.
