SEA Games: Pinoy shooters bumaril ng ginto sa men’s trap team

SUBIC – Bumaril ang Pilipinas ng gintong medalya sa shooting matapos na ungusan nina Eric Ang, Carlos Carag at Alex Topacio ang men’s trap team event sa 2019 Southeast Asian Games

May 338 puntos ang Pinoy trio para higitan sina Bernard Yeoh, Chee Ong at Foo Chen ng Malaysia na nagtala ng 330 puntos. Pumangatlo sina Savate Sresthaporn, Yodchai Pachonyut at Kornthawat Tadthongkam na may 321 puntos.

Sa men’s trap (shotgun), umiskor ng 41 puntos si Carag ngunit kinapos ng tatlong puntos para kubrahin ang silver medal.  Ibinulsa ni Savate Sresthaporn ang ginto sa iskor na 44 habang nagkasya sa tanso si Chee Ong ng Malaysia na may 34 puntos.

“We prepared for 5 to 6 months internationally,” sabi ni Carag.

Dinagdag pa ni Carag na naabot nilang tatlo ang minimum qualifying score para sa Olympics nang anim na beses.

“So now it’s a possibility if we get the wild card, one of as can play in the Olympics,” aniya pa.
