Labi ni Manoy na-cremate na; binigyan ng standing ovation ng pamilya, malalapit na kaibigan

NA-CREMATE na kaninang madalang-araw ang labi ng veteran actor na si Eddie Garcia matapos pumanaw kahapon, June 20, sa edad na 90.

Ito ang ibinalita sa pamamagitan ng Facebook, ng stepson ni Manoy na si Cong. Michael Romero. Naibigay na rin ang abo ng veteran actor sa naiwang pamilya nito.

Si Michael ay anak ng longtime partner ni Manoy na si Lilibeth Romero.

Narito ang kabuuan ng FB status ng kongresista, “At 3:20am, Tito Eddie’s ashes was given to us. (Me, his surviving son Erwin, our mother Lilibeth, Brother Nikki and Pareng Ipe).

“At 1am, in front of around 40 immediate family and friends of the Garcia, Lagman and Romero gathered around tito eddie”s mortal body, his cremation process started.

“Thank you also to tito Ed’s closest friends, Tita Bibeth Orteza, Tirso Cruz III, Ipe Salvador, his Exec Assistant Joe and others who gave their eulogy to the unparalleled 17 times FAMAS awardee (6x best supporting actor and Hall of Famer, 5x best actor and Hall of Famer and 5x best director and Hall of Famer), the legend that might not be equalled again, MR. Eduardo V. Garcia.

“As he entered the cremation room, we all gave Tito Ed a standing ovation he deserved and started shouting ‘BRAVO’ for the last time. We love you!!!”

Kung matatandaan, base na rin sa mga nakaraang interview ni Eddie Garcia, lagi nitong binabanggit na kapag namatay siya, gusto niyang ma-cremate agad.

Lahad niya sa isang panayam sa TV, “I already paid for my cremation. Binayaran ko na. My helicopter pilot-friend will pick up the ashes from the crematory and spread sa Manila Bay.

“Para pag namasyal ka sa Roxas Boulevard, ‘Baka multuhin tayo ni Eddie rito!’ Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! And I want to spread on a beautiful sunset,” natatawa pang pahayag noon ni Manoy.

Wala pang official statement ang pamilya ni Manoy kung susundin nila ang kagustuhan nitong isaboy sa dagat ang kanyang abo.
