Klase pinaikli ng DepEd; Christmas break sa Dec. 15 na
BINAGO ng Department of Education ang araw ng pagsasara ng klase para sa Christmas break.
Sa halip na Disyembre 22, magtatapos na ang klase ngayong taon sa Disyembre 15.
Magsisimula ang pasukan sa susunod na taon sa Enero 2 na nakalagay sa orihinal na schedule. Mananatili naman sa Abril 2 ang pagtatapos ng academic year 2018-19. Hunyo 4 ng magsimula ang pasok sa mga pampublikong paaralan sa elementarya at high school.
Ayon kay Education Sec. Leonor Briones na nabuo ang desisyon matapos na pakinggan ang mga suhestyon mula sa iba’t ibang sektor gaya ng Kongreso.
“We have been listening to the suggestions of the Senate, the Executive, the Congress, and the parents,” ani Briones.
Binibigyang diin umano sa pagbabago ang school calendar ang pagkakaroon ng mas mahabang oras ng mga bata sa kanilang pamilya.
“The DepEd values the importance of spending quality time with the family. The Christmas season provides an opportunity fro Filipino learners to strengthen their emotional bonds with their family,” saad ng Department Order 49.
