Pandikit ng fake nails nakaka-allergy

NAGBABALA ang EcoWaste Coalition sa publiko kaugnay ng mga artificial nails o kuko na mayroon umanong toxic adhesive na maaaring magdulot ng allergic reaction sa katawan.

Ang mga pekeng kuko ay maaaring mabili sa halagang P20 sa mga fashion accessories shops sa Cubao, Quezon City. Ang glue na ginagamit dito para dumikit sa kuko ay mayroon umanong dibutyl phthalate (DBP), ayon kay Thony Dizon, Chemical Safety Campaigner ng EcoWaste.

“We call upon your company to stop the sale of ‘Splendid Nail’ and to cause their immediate return to their manufacturer, importer or distributor for environmentally-sound disposal,” saad ng EcoWaste sa sulat na ipinadala nito sa nagtitinda ng produktong may DBP. “As this is a matter of public health and safety, we request your company to undertake the requested action without delay.”

Makikita umano sa label nito na mayroong DBP ang glue nito.

Ang DBP ay hindi dapat nakahalo sa mga cosmetic products alinsunod sa ASEAN Cosmetic Directive.

Ipinalabas ng Food and Drug Administration ang “Warning Against Unnotified Adhesive containing DBP (Advisory No. 2015-006) noong 2015.

Ayon sa FDA ang DBP ay maaaring magdulot ng allergic reaction sa gumamit nito. “There were previous cases where allergic response to DBP was found to be severe. Allergic reactions can induce a state of hypersensitivity in the immune system.”

Ang produktong may DBP ay wala umanong market authorization mula sa FDA.
