Empleyado ng isang radio station pinatay sa Marawi City

PATAY ang 50-anyos na empleyado ng government-run dxSO-Radyo Pilipinas sa Marawi City matapos pagbabarilin ng hindi pa nakikilalang mga salarin, ayon sa mga pulis kahapon.

Sinabi ni Marawi City police chief Supt. Jamal Adiong na 10 metro na lamang ang layo ng biktimang si Jessie Cano sa kanyang bahay sa Aggie Village sa Barangay Cadayonan, Marawi City nang atakihin ganap na alas-7 ng gabi.

Si Cano ay 20 taon ng utility worker sa dxSO, na pag-aari ng Philippine Broadcasting Service (PBS). Galing ang biktima sa palengke nang siya ay barilin.

Dead on the spot si Cano matapos magtamo ng apat na tama ng bala sa likod, sabi ni Adiong.

Tinitingnan na ng mga imbestigador ang iba’t ibang motibo sa pagpatay, kabilang na ang pagiging Army reservist ni Cano, dahilan para siya targetin ng mga Islamic state sympathizers.

“They are still around,” sabi ni Adiong.
Sinabi naman ni Bae Sora Sarigala, station manager of DXSO, na palakaibigan naman si Cano.

“We could not remember any incident of his involvement in trouble. He also had not told us of any possible threat to his life,” sabi ni Sarigala.

Idinagdag ni Cano na nagdulot ng pagkabahala sa mga empleyado ng government station ang nangyaring pag-atake. Matatagpuan ang DxSO sa loob ng Mindanao State University.

“I hope justice would be served,” ani Sarigala.
