Dapat umanong maghain ng kanyang courtesy resignation si PNP chief Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa at hayaan si Pangulong Duterte na magdesisyon kung nais nito na manatili pa siya sa puwesto.
Ayon kay Antipolo City Rep. Romeo Acop hindi katanggap-tanggap ang nangyari na sa Camp Crame— ang headquarters ng PNP— pinaslang ang South Korean businessman na si Jee Ick-joo.
“Kung ako si PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa, magte-tender ako ng courtesy resignation kay Presidente,” ani Acop. “I will not let the President decide on the suggestions or
recommendations of other people. Ako na mismo ang magte-tender ng courtesy resignation ko. Kasi nangyari sa aking bahay at sarili ko pang mga tao ang involved.”
Malaki umanong dagok sa PNP ang nangyari lalo at ang mga nasa likod ng krimen ay mga pulis.
Sinabi naman ni Buhay Rep. Lito Atienza na mayroong ibang pulis na makagagawa ng trabaho ni dela Rosa.
“There is no way he can retain himself and we urge the President to let him go and choose a better man who will not be an embarrassment to his anti-illegal drugs campaign,” ani Atienza.
Naniniwala si Atienza na mahihirapan na si dela Rosa na kumbinsihin ang publiko na magagawa pa nito ang kanyang trabaho.
“He can no longer effectively convince the public that he can do the job. He should enjoy life and give the PNP a chance to excel and regain public trust. The very sad fate of the South Korean victim made him to lost his ability to effectively lead the PNP,” dagdag pa ni Atienza.
