Naghain ng not guilty plea si dating Laguna Gov. Emilio Ramon ‘ER’ Ejercito sa Sandiganbayan Fourth Division kahapon kaugnay ng maanomalya umanong insurance deal na pinasok nito.
Kahapon, itinakda na rin ng korte ang pre-trial ng kaso sa Enero 12.
Si Ejercito ay sinampahan ng kasong paglabag sa Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act ng Office of the Ombudsman dahil sa maanomalyang insurance deal na pinasok nito sa First Rapids Care Ventures noong 2008.
Ayon sa Ombudsman hindi dumaan sa public bidding ang kontrata na naglalagak ng insurance sa mga turista at bangkero sa loob ng Pagsanjan Gorge Tourist Zone.
Wala rin umanong lisensya ang FRCV mula sa Insurance Commission na kailangan sa insurance company.
“This is to certify that, based on records, a preliminary investigation was conducted in this case, that there is sufficient ground to engender a well-founded belief that the crime charged was committed and that the accused are probably guilty thereof,” saad ng reklamo.
