P24 kada araw na dagdag sa sahod kulang

     Dapat umanong dagdagan ang P24 kada araw na taas sa sahod sa mga guro sa pampublikong paaralan.      Sinabi ni ACT Rep. Antonio Tinio na maliit ang dagdag sahod na ipatutupad ng gobyerno sa loob ng apat na taon at dapat itong dagdagan ng Duterte government.      “While we welcome the inclusion of the second installment for salary increases in the 2017 budget, we maintain that government employees deserve much, much more than the paltry hikes under EO 201,” ani Tinio.       Ang EO 201 ay ipinatupad ng Aquino government ngayong taon at tatlong taong ipagpapatuloy ng kasalukuyang gobyerno maliban na lamang kung ayaw na itong ipatupad ni Pangulong Duterte.      Paliwanag ni Duterte ang pagtaas na P543 kada buwan sa suweldo ng entry-level public school teacher ay napakaliit.      “Teachers along with other education personnel, nurses, clerks, and others in the bureaucracy, only invoke their rights to adequate compensation, to be paid much more than loose change.”      Sinabi ni Tinio na hindi maituturing na kalabisan kung hihingi ang ibang sektor ng dagdag na kita gaya ng ibibigay sa mga pulis at sundalo.      “It is not ‘todo ambisyon’ to ask for both substantial salary increases and lower income taxes, as both—not one without the other—answer to the people’s right to a decent standard of living.”      May panukala si Tinio na nagtatakda ng P16,000 bilang pinakamababang sahod sa gobyerno, P25,000 sa pampublikong guro at P27,000 sa college instructors. 30
