Lacson nangakong hindi madidiktahan ni Duterte ang Senado

NANGAKO si Senator-elect Panfilo “Ping” Lacson na hindi madidiktahan ni President-elect Rodrigo Duterte ang Senado.

Inilabas ni Lacson ang pahayag bilang reaksyon sa naging babala ni Duterte sa mga mambabatas na haharang sa kanyang kampanya kontra droga at kriminalidad sa pamamagitan ng pagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon.

“The Congress, particularly the Senate, is not like most of the provincial, city or municipal councils. We will conduct investigations in aid of legislation whenever necessary, and nobody, not even the President of the Republic, can dictate and stop us from doing our job,” sabi ni Lacson.

Idinagdag ni Lacson na hindi mapipigilan ni Duterte ang Kongreso na magsagawa ng mga imbestigasyon.

“The President should not and cannot stand in the way of our mandated duty. We will exercise our subpoena powers, not to mention the power to cite for contempt any person who defies our authority under the Constitution,” ayon pa kay Lacson.
