Donnie Nietes palalawigin pa ang paghahari sa Pinoy Pride 33

PALALAWIGIN pa ni longest reigning Filipino world champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes ang kanyang paghahari sa pagsabak sa “Pinoy Pride 33: Philippines vs the World” na gaganapin ngayong Oktubre 17 sa StubHub Center sa Carson City, California, USA.

Idedepensa ni Nietes (36-4, 21 knockouts), na lalaban sa Estados Unidos sa unang pagkakataon, ang kanyang World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior flyweight laban kay Juan “Pinky” Alejo (21-3, 13 KOs) ng Mexico.

Si Nietes, na huling nakalasap ng pagkatalo noong Setyembre 2004 kay Angky Angkota, ay manggagaling sa unanimous decision panalo laban kay Francisco Rodriguez ng Mexico sa sagupaang ginawa noong Hulyo 12 sa Waterfront Hotel & Casino sa Cebu City.

Maliban kay Nietes, my tatlong iba pang Pinoy boxers ang sasalang sa kanilang unang laban sa Estados Unidos.

Ang walang talong International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental super bantamweight champion na si “Prince” Albert Pagara (24-0, 17 KOs) ay makakaharap si Nicaraguan knockout artist William “Chirizo” Gonzalez (25-5, 23 KOs) para sa WBO International junior featherweight title.

Idedepensa naman ng Pinoy boxing rising star na si Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo (11-0, 9 KOs) ang kanyang IBF youth featherweight crown laban sa walang talong Mexicano na si Yardley Suarez (13-0, 8 KOs).

Ang nakatatandang kapatid ni Albert na si Jason “El Niño” Pagara (36-2, 22 KOs) ay makikipagbakbakan kay Nicaraguan fighter Santos “El Toro” Benavides (25-7-2, 19 KOs) sa isang 10-round non-title match.

Ang mga Pinoy boxers ay puspusan na ang pag-eensayo sa tulong ni Edito Villamor sa sikat na Wild Card Gym ni trainer Freddie Roach sa Los Angeles, California.
