Maricar tigil muna sa showbiz, gusto nang buntisin ni Richard

Huling serye na ni Maricar Reyes-Poon ang Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon dahil plano na nila ng asawang si Richard Poon na magka-baby sila.

“Oo, sana next year, kasi matatapos ang SBPAK sa October 10, di ba? So, sana-sana next year,” say sa amin ni Richard nang makatsikahan namin sa album launching ng kanyang “Crooner Sings Bacharach” mula sa Universal Records.

Hindi naman sinabi ni Richard na titigil na sa pag-aartista si Maricar dahil alam niyang mahal ng asawa ang showbiz, “I think our marriage although not perfect, (but) it has always been, we’ve always agreed that it has to be mutually agreed.

“Before I married her, I said (to her), I’m talking two couples as friend, ‘okay bas a ‘yo na huwag munang mag-baby, so I can focus on you?’ So we agreed on that, way back pa. So we’re only married one year and two months,” aniya.

Paano kung may follow-up project si Maricar, “Siguro kung mabigat ‘yung taping, baka huwag muna. Pero ‘yung movies, may bago siyang movie ngayon, eh, mga 2 to 3 days (shooting) lang, okay na, it’s an indie movie.

So pag movies, okay sa kanya kasi sulput-sulpot lang. I’m having a hard time seeing her go home at 4 a.m. and I’ll leave at 7 a.m. She’s losing weight because of puyat,” ani Mr. Crooner.

Natanong si Richard kung anong masasabi niya sa acting ni Maricar sa SBPAK, “Alam mo sa totoo lang, lagi kong sinasabi sa kanya na she’s a natural saka masipag siyang manood ng movies para mag-aral ng acting,” masayang sabi ni RP.

Tungkol naman sa bago niyang album, ang “Crooner Sings Bacharach”, “Well my album is my bosses idea, alam mo naman ako, obedient boy ako.

They showed me figures that they released an album years ago na Bacharach album ‘Without A Face’ that sold 50,000 copies, so they said if we can put your face on it, Jazz baka all the more it will appeal the AD market.

“All the songs sa album kilala ng masa, like Arthur’s Theme, The Look Of Love, mga jazz song, may pop din like Walk On By, Close To You (Carpenters), I Say A Little Prayer, You’ll Never Get To Heaven (if you break my heart), What The World Needs Now is Love, and many others,” sabi pa ni Richard Poon.
