Mayor Binay kinuwestiyon ang paglipat sa DOJ ng inihaing libel vs Trillanes

KINUWESTIYON ng kampo ng suspendidong Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay ang paglilipat ng kanyang inihaing libel laban kay Senator Antonio Trillanes IV sa Department of Justice (DOJ) mula sa Makati Prosecutors office.

Nabigo namang sumipot si Trillanes sa Preliminary Investigation.
Kinasuhan siya ng libel matapos ang kanyang akusasyon na dalawang Associate Justice ng Court of Appeals ang tumanggap ng tig-P25 milyon kapalit ng pagpapatigil ng implementasyon ng anim-na-buwang suspensiyon laban kay Binay na ipinalabas ng Office of the Ombudsman.

Sa kanyang motion for reconsideration, sinabi ni Binay na nabigo ang kampo ni Trillanes na patunayan kung bakit kailangang mag-inhibit ng Makati Prosecutors Office sa paghawak sa kaso at ipasa sa DOJ ang isinasagawang preliminary investigation.
Sinabi ni Binay na kuwestiyonable rin ang paglipat sa DOJ dahil kasama si Justice Secretary Leila de Lima sa kanyang mga kinasuhan ng contempt sa Court of Appeals.
“It is very clear that the present government is against Binay and all the resources of the government is being used [against Binay]. So, it is very suspicious that they would insist that the DOJ should handle the case,” sabi ng abogado ni Binay na si Atty. Claro Certeza.
