MICHAEL Pangilinan is again very much ready to captivate his loyal audience as he stars in his new solo concert entitled “Just Say 54” at Teatrino (Promenade, Greenhills) tonight, April 15 (9 p.m.).

“Bakit Just Say 54? Kasi ganito iyan, ang first letters ng Just Say ay JS that stands for the initials ng manager kong si Nanay Jobert Sucaldito and 54 kasi bisperas ng kaniyang 54th birthday. Bukas, April 16 kasi talaga ang birthday niya. Actually, siya rin ang nakaisip ng title. Ganoon iyon.

“And since magbi-birthday si Nay Jobert, naghanda ako rito ng ilang favorite songs niya na hindi ko madalas nakakanta sa mga nakaraan kong shows. Nandiyan ang favorite niyang Sandra ni Barry Manillow. Yung In My Life ni Patti Austin ay gagawan ko ng version at marami pang iba.

“Maraming bagong songs ang maririnig niyo rito – kakantahin ko rito ang ginawa kong theme song ng super-seryeng ‘Bridges of Love’ entitled ‘Pusong Ligaw’ at first time ko rin kakantahin sa show na ito ang sagot sa Pare Mahal Mo Raw Ako – ang pamagat nito ay Pare Mahal Naman Kita composed pa rin by Tito Joven Tan.

“May ilang songs din sa ginagawa kong second album sa Star Records ang inihahanda namin sa Just Say 54 concert. Dami kong kakantahin sa show kaya ngaragan sa rehearsals ito. Di bale, sulit naman kasi nga magbi-birthday ang Nanay Jobert ko,” ani Michael na sobra ang pagka-thoughtful.

Ang Bagong Kilabot Ng Mga Kolehiyala nating si Michael is truly becoming to be the country’s favorite young male artist today. Nang minsang mag-show siya sa Guiguinto, Bulacan for their Halamanan Festival, kinailangang tanggalin ang hagdan sa harap ng stage para maiwas si Michael sa mob ng teenage fans niya.

“Nakakatuwa dahil every show na puntahan ni Michael ngayon ay jampacked – overwhelming ang resulta ng mga shows niya kaya sobrang saya ni Michael. And in fairness to him, he has so much humility in his heart kaya malabong lumaki ang ulo ng batang ito.

“May bago na namang titulong ipinapatong sa ulo niya – ang Pare Ng Bayan because of the sensational outcome ng kaniyang Himig Handog P-Pop 2014 entry na Pare Mahal Mo Raw Ako last year. After winning his Best New Male Artist trophy from Aliw Awards, lalong dumami ang guestings ni Michael.

“He has a few regular TV stints – two sa ABS-CBN – sa Kris TV and ASAP with his co-Harana members and Walang Tulugan With The Master Showman sa GMA 7. Tuwing Martes naman ay regular co-host siya ni DJ Chacha sa MOR 101.9. He is scheduled for a US concert series this coming June 20 till early July. He will also be the lead star of the forthcoming musical ‘Kanser’ under Gantimpala Theater Foundation in celebration of their 40th year. He will play Crisostomo Ibarra.
