John sa nakuhang acting award: Parang si Pacman lang yan!

NIRESBAKAN ni John Estrada ang kapwa Kapamilya actor na si Jake Cuenca matapos itong magsalita tungkol sa pagkapanalo niya bilang best supporting actor sa nakaraang 28th PMPC Star Awards for TV para sa serye nilang Ikaw Lamang.

Nagsalita kasi si Jake sa isang interview na masaya siya sa pagkapanalo ng kanyang “kuya Jake” pero disappointed siya na hindi siya ang nagwagi.

Kinontra naman ng mister ni Priscilla Mereilles ang sinabi ng aktor tungkol sa kanyang pagkapanalo.  Sey ni John, “I’m sure, hindi siya ganu’n ka-happy sa akin.”

Sa presscon ng bagong movie ni John na “Tragic Theater” under Viva Films, nilinaw ni John ang issue, “I have nothing against Jake, kaibigan ko si Jake, I like Jake. I always tell him during tapings namin (sa Ikaw Lamang) na, for me, this is his best performance ever. In-acknowledge ko yun.

“Now, nung ako ay nanalo, na hindi ko naman talaga ini-expect, ano ba ang sasabihin ko, thank you ba o natsambahan ko lang?” sey pa ni John.

Hirit pa ng aktor, “Kumbaga, parang boksingero lang ’yan. Si Manny Pacquiao nga ay natatalo, ’di ba? Siguro, sa tingin natin napakagaling niya at totoo namang napakagaling niya, pero natsatsambahan siya.

“Kumbaga sa boksing, labanan ’yan, ’di mo puwedeng maliitin mga kalaban mo. So, I’m sure, hindi naman ganu’n ang ano ni Jake, baka nadala lang ng pressure,” dagdag pa ni John.

Pero naniniwala ba siya na deserving siyang manalo? Natawa muna si John sabay sabing, “Well, aside from… ako kasi ang nanalo, kaya nahirap namang magsalita. I think, all of us can win that, all of us—sina Boyet (Christopher de Leon), Joel (Torre), Tito Eddie Garcia, Kuya Pipo (Tirso Cruz III), Tito Ronaldo (Valdez) at si Jake.

“Anybody can win that. I’m just so blessed and lucky enough na sa akin ibinigay, wala akong magagawa,” chika pa niya.
