Jude Bacalso at Kaladkaren

“Sometimes, I still get called ‘sir’… but I know how to choose my battles. When this happens, most of the time, I just smile, be the bigger person and let it pass,” simulang punto ni Kaladkaren.

Pagpapatuloy niya, “Sometimes I answer in jest, ‘ikaw naman kuya/ate, ang ganda ko naman pong sir’ sabay tawanan kami or sometimes I seriously ask them, ‘kapag nakabihis babae pwede tawagin na lang ng ma’am or miss. If you’re not sure po, pwede sila tanungin.’

“Oftentimes, people don’t mean to offend you. Nalilito lang talaga sila. Tinawag kang ma’am or sir because they want to show respect.

“If you don’t agree with how you are addressed, it is up to you to correct it. If you show them respect, respeto din ang ibabalik sa iyo.

“Sadly, not everybody is 100% aware of how to use the right pronouns. As members of the community, I believe it is our responsibility to educate others about this.

“We have to let them understand the importance of using the right pronouns for every SOGIE. But educate properly. People commit mistakes… I do also.

“I believe, being kind makes us empathize more with other people. Let’s love and respect one another,” katwiran pa ni Kaladkaren.

“Agree 100%. Even straight men and women get the same response. Slipped of the tongue ika nga po. So sana mas maraming maging mabuti sa pag-unawa sa kapwa and mas maging marespeto talaga sa iba. Yun lang po Ms Kaladkaren my idol.”

“Salute to you Ms. KaladKaren…isa sa mga disenteng LGBTQ member.”

“Also do understand that it takes time for everyone to accept your preferences. Some people may agree or disagree regardless if you educate them. That’s their belief and we should also respect them instead of forcing it. Move on and project that positivity to those who are willing to be educated.”

“People don’t mean to offend you, nalilito lang talaga sila. -perfectly said!”

“Eto pinaka clazz na explanation nabasa ko. Yung iba kasi pumatol naden, binully nadin yung kapwa nila. wala na sila pinagkaiba. Good job Jervs! Proud of you always!

“In the same way, public humiliation by posting people online is not the only way to educate people who wronged other people. Gigil tlaga tayo pag may nagkamali. It’s as if nakaabang lang tayo for the next mistake. We can’t fight fire with fire.”
