NAGING bukas ang actress-beauty queen na si Michelle Dee ukol sa naging journey niya sa pagpasok sa mundo ng pageantry.
Sa latest vlog ng kilalang photographer na si BJ Pascual, muling binalikan ng dalaga ang kanyang mga pinagdaanan hanggang sa pagsabak nito sa Miss Universe 2023.
Unang sumabak si Michelle noon sa Miss World Philippines kung saan minana niya ang korona mula kay Katarina Rodriguez.
Siya nga ang itinanghal na representative ng Pilipinas noong Miss World 2019 na ginanap sa London, England.
Matapos ang kanyang unang pageant ay nangyari na ang pandemic at dito na nagsimula ang Miss Universe journey ni Michelle.
Pagbabahagi ni BJ, hindi raw niya na-imagine na makikita ang kaibigan noon na sasali sa neauty pageant dahil nakikita niya itong “anti-pageant” girl.

“I really didn’t grow up dreaming of being a beauty queen especially when I see the videos, I’d feel like hindi ko kaya ‘yan. Parang hirap,” lahad ni Michelle.
Bukod pa rito ay may pressure dahil aware naman tayo na beauty queen rin ang kanyang inang si Melanie Marquez.
Pero noong maging judge raw siya sa isang beauty pageant ay doon niya naramdaman ang suporta kaya sinubukan niyang pasukin ang mundo ng pageantry na talaga namang trinabaho at pinagsikapan niya.
Nabanggit nga rin ni Michelle na isa siya sa mga “most bashed” Miss Universe Philippines winner.
“I was trending for weeks on the negative side. Of course, it is a natural occurence afterca pageant. Siyempre nagagalit ‘yung fans ng iba. They don’t feel like I was deserving because I was very anti-pageant.
“Everything about my vision was breaking barriers, breaking all the stereotypes and forcing people to change their perspective on pageantry and it worked naman,” lahad ni Michelle.
Inamin rin ng dalaga na kanya-kanya ang formula ng isang tao para maging successful sa larangang tinatahak nito at ang mahalaga ay ang kanilang vision kung ano talaga ang naisi nilang mangyari.
“I hope the [beauty pageant] candidates this year own for themselves. Because after the success of my Miss Universe journey, I just hope they don’t think that whatever I did was the formula to success,” sey ni Michelle.
Dagdag pa niya,Kanya-kanyang formula of success ‘yan. And they have to just know what they want and execute that in their own way. […] You just have to find your own momentum.”
