Donny sumugal sa pagiging producer, pinuri nang bongga ni Baron sa e-sports na ‘GG’: Hindi lang siya pang-loveteam
Donny Pangilinan at ang iba pang cast members ng ‘GG’
TALAGANG sumugal ang Kapamilya actor-TV host na si Donny Pangilinan sa kauna-unahang Pinoy e-sports film na “GG (Good Game) The Movie.”
Sa naganap na cast reveal at mediacon ng pelikula last Thursday, nabanggit ni Donny na super hands on talaga siya sa naturang proyekto hindi lang bilang lead star kundi bilang producer na rin.
Kuwento ni Donny, bukod sa pagre-research para mas maging makatotohanan ang pagganap niya bilang gamer, nag-hire pa ang production team ng “GG” ng game consultants para turuan at i-guide sila in all aspects of esports.
Nakipag-collaboration pa sila sa Metasports para gumawa ng original game, ang “Requiem” na ginamit nila sa actual film.
“We didn’t want to portray people from this community in the wrong way. Alam namin hindi ito biro.
“This is a big deal to us. Even our hand movements, the way we communicate with each other, lahat iyon we really took into heart,” sey pa ni Donny.
“The fact that we were able to portray gamers with this caliber, mas lalong tumaas ‘yung respeto ko sa kanila sobra.
“It really made me respect more the professional gamers and how much hard work they put into it, and their talent. It’s really a profession that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Sobrang saludo ako sa inyo,” pahayag pa niya.

Kasama rin sa movie sina Baron Geisler, Johannes Isler, Iggy Boy Flores, Gold Aceron at ang nanay ni Donny na si Maricel Laxa, na gumaganap ding mommy ng binata sa pelikula.
In fairness, pati ang buong pamilya ni Donny ay hands-on sa pagbuo ng movie na umabot ng isang taon bago natapos. Bukod sa magulang ng aktor na sina Maricel at Anthony Pangilinan, pati ang kapatid niyang si Hanna ay part ng pelikula bilang creative producer.

“Donny believes in this movie so much that he is a major stakeholder and investor in this film. He has been part of it from beginning to end and he continues to be part of it, whether it is behind the scenes or with the cast or crew.
“I’m very proud to be part of this film because his whole heart and soul is in it,” ani Maricel.
Sey naman ni Anthony, “Kung ano man ang era niyo sa gaming, covered ‘yan sa pelikula. This is really for all, gamers, young, and old. We’re excited about that. In fact, the people we worked with were so committed.
“We believe this kind of movie deserves to be in the cinemas, not just for the younger generation but also for the Filipinos to take pride din,” aniya pa.
Samantala, puring-puri naman ni Baron ang ka-loveteam ni Belle Mariano, “Si Donny nakikita ko siya as a (pang) loveteam era.
“Du’n siya magaling. But dito nagulat ako na ang galing niyang leader sa set, as a producer, and also as an actor.
“Sobrang prepared, alam niya mga lines niya. May mga scenes na dramatic, when I look at his eyes, nadadala ako. Hindi lang siya pang-loveteam,” sabi ni Baron.
Ang “GG” ay mula sa direksyon ni Prime Cruz.
