Karen Davila super proud sa anak na may autism dahil nag-aaral na sa UP Diliman

INSPIRASYON para sa maraming magulang ang latest social media post ng veteran journalist at news anchor na si Karen Davila.
Paano ba naman kasi, ang kanyang anak na si David na may autism ay isa nang college freshman sa University of the Philippines!
Sa isang Instagram post, proud na ibinandera ni Karen ang ilang mga litrato kung saan makikita ang first day ng anak sa unibersidad noong September 13.
“PROUD OF YOU DAVID. Wow! This day!” caption ng journalist sa IG.
Wika pa niya, “David, now a freshman at the UP College of Fine Arts for the Associate in Arts undergraduate program!”
“Last May 2023, David took the talent determination test along with hundreds of students at the UP Diliman campus. No parents allowed during testing,” kwento ng news anchor.
Saad pa niya, “By June, we got the letter that David made it! My heart was bursting with joy!”

Kasabay niyan ay lubos niyang pinasalamatan ang kanyang alma mater – ang UP Diliman, pati na rin ang College of Fine Arts dahil mas pinili raw nito ang “inclusivity.”
Taos puso rin ang kanyang pasasalamat sa mga guro ni David sa Vanguard Academy dahil ginabayan daw nito ang kanyang anak upang mapaghandaan ang pagtungtong sa kolehiyo.
“Preparing a child in the autism spectrum for college takes a lot of support and planning,” sey ni Karen.
Patuloy niya, “It is true, ‘It takes a village to raise a child.’ Even more so, a child with special needs.”
“Thank you teachers, David is in college because of all of you. I hope this serves as an inspiration to my co-parents out there!” aniya.
Mensahe pa niya sa anak, “David, you continue to defy limitations and expectations. You are God’s miracle.”

Siyempre, tuwang-tuwa rin ang maraming fans at ilang kapwa-celebrities sa naabot na bagong milestone ni David.

Kung matatandaan, tatlong taong gulang si David nang ma-diagnose siya ng Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified (PDD/NOS) in the Autism Spectrum.
Taong 2020 at 2021 nang makaranas at malagpasan ni David ang dalawang full-blown seizures.
