Beauty Gonzalez binanatan dahil sa pagsusuot ng Philippine ancestral gold: 'Ignorance can’t possibly be fashionable'

Mula pa raw ang mga gold neck piece at earrings sa “excavated eye and mouth covers from distant places like Butuan and Surigao.” At makikita ring naka-display sa Ayala Museum at National Museum.

“My look for [GMA Gala 2023] is an appreciation for Philippine Ancestral Gold. My centuries-old gold neck piece and earrings are excavated eye and mouth covers from distant places like Butuan and Surigao…” ang caption ni Beauty sa kanyang Instagram post kung saan makikita nga ang suot niyang mga gintong alahas.

“Well, I just wanna showcase like a Philippine gold so I’m wearing a Philippine ancestral gold right now.

“This is like 800 to 1000 years old, pre-colonial, excavated, and you can see this at Ayala Museum, and National Museum in the Philippines, and it really speaks of who I am since…I am really into Philippine antiques and contemporary.

“I’m proud to be Pinoy so I’ve been collecting this for years,” ang pahayag naman ng aktres sa panayam ng Pep.ph.

“Someone tell this woman that the orifice covers she is paying ‘homage’ to are grave robber stuff. Because if these were legally excavated, the pieces would belong to the National Museum or the Bangko Sentral.

“Or, if the pieces were excavated decades ago and therefore privately owned by sensible collectors before current restrictions, the question still remains: why death masks as necklace?

“Sure, the owners have been dead for a thousand years. BUT,” aniya.

Pagpapatuloy ni Pastor, “This fashion victim is wearing mouth and eye covers: around 10 of them. Which is to say that the necklace was fashioned from excavations of many individuals. That is an astounding number of desecrated graves!

“How on earth is this an homage, exhibiting impunity and crassness? Ignorance (blended with arrogance) can’t possibly be fashionable,” sey pa ng curator.
