Francis Tolentino nais ipa-ban sa Pilipinas ang ‘Barbie’, Risa Hontiveros may pakiusap sa mga sinehan
HINIHIKAYAT ni Sen. Francis Tolentino ang Movie and Television Review and Classification Board o MTRCB na i-ban ang pagpapalabas ng pelikulang “Barbie” sa Pilipinas.
Ito ay kasunod nang naunang desisyon ng Vietnam na huwag itong ipalabas sa kanilang mga sinehan dahil sa isang eksena kung saan ipinakita ang “nine-dash line” ng China.
If the invalidated 9-dash line was indeed depicted in the movie ‘Barbie,’ then it is incumbent upon the MTRCB to ban the same as it denigrates Philippine sovereignty,” saad ni Tolentino.
“Dapat lang ipagbawal ang pelikulang ‘Barbie’ dahil ang pinakita nitong 9-dash line ay salungat sa katotohan at ipinawalang-bisa na ng arbitral ruling noong 2016,” dagdag pa nito.
Maging si Senator Risa Hontiveros ay nagbigay pagayag hinggil sa controversial international movie.

“The movie is fiction, and so is the nine-dash line. At the minimum, our cinemas should include an explicit disclaimer that the nine-dash line is a figment of China’s imagination,” sabi ni Hontiveros.
Hinimok rin ng senadora ang mga sinehan na maglagay ng babala na “explicit disclaimer” sa pelikulang Barbie para sabihin sa publiko na walang katotohanan ang nine-dash line ng China.
Samantala, naglabas na ngayong araw ng pahayag ang MTRCB hinggil sa isyu patungkol sa naturang pelikula.
“We confirm that the Board has reviewed the film “Barbie” today, 04 July 2023. At this time, the assigned Committee on First Review is deliberating on the request of Warner Brothers F.E. Inc. for a Permit to Exhibit,” ayon sa MTRCB.
“Once available, a copy of the Permit to Exhibit or the Committee’s decision will be uploaded to the Agency’s official website,” pagpapatuloy nito.
Nakatakdang ipalabas sa Pilipinas ang “Barbie”, fantasy-comedy film nina Margot Robbie at Ryan Gosling na siyang gumanap bilang Barbie at Ken sa July 19. Ito ay mul sa direksyon ni Greta Gerwig.
