Visual Artist Alex Aguilar naglunsad ng solo art exhibit sa Makati

NAGKAROON ng solo art exhibit ang isa sa kilalang Pinoy visual artist na si Alex Aguilar.
Tampok ang kanyang mga obra na may titulong “Rumor Has It…” sa Underground Gallery na matatagpuan sa 2nd level ng Makati Square.
Nakaangkla ang konsepto ng kanyang mga likha mula sa mga pamahiin na naging bahagi ng kanyang buhay.
“‘Rumor Has It..’. started out as a contemplation of habit, habit infused by superstition as the muscle memory he relies on to move through his various lives and lifetimes, but it veered, as it would, maybe even as it should, into something less observational, less passive,” saad sa inilabas niyang pahayag.
Ayon kay Alex, bagamat walang bakas ng self-portrait sa kanyang mga obra, ang kanyang ipininta ay nagpapakita ng mga naging karanasan sa buhay.
“In many ways, Rumor Has It… could well be his most autobiographical show. There may be no literal self-portraits here, unless you count the doodle in Etched In Lead, but one can argue that’s what all the pieces are, self-portraits at various junctures, self-portraits of various selves, striking conversations, conducting interrogations, making negotiations,” lahad sa statement.
Dagdag pa, “This is not some gauzy nostalgic reflex. If Aguilar is after anything here, it’s achieving a convergence, a bleeding of timelines, a truce of demons.”
Ang solo art exhibit ni Alex ay isang pagdiriwang at testamento na nahuhubog hindi lang sa kanyang talento sa art, kundi dahil din sa mga pinagdaanan sa buhay.
Ang “Rumor Has It…” ni Alex ay bukas hanggang May 3 sa Makati.
Pwede ito bisitahin ng publiko na kung saan ay masasaksihan ang malalim na kahulugan at damdamin na nakapaloob sa kanyang autobiographical show.
