Danny Javier nag-iwan ng ‘special gift’ sa madlang pipol bago pumanaw

MAY handog na kanta ang lead vocalist ng OPM trio na “Apo Hiking Society” na si Danny Javier bago tuluyang mamaalam.
Ibinandera ng music producer at long-time collaborator ni Javier na si Lorrie Ilustre ang kantang “Lahat Tayo” na huling na-record ng singer na tungkol sa kamatayan.
Kwento ni Lorrie sa isang Facebook post na sinimulan niyang ayusin ang kanta habang nagpapagaling sa ospital ang kanyang kaibigan.
Chika niya, “Through family, I was able to get the recording with his original vocals to his hospital bed.
“The nurse played the music to Danny and he would nod to acknowledge that it was ok.
“That’s good enough for me.”
Patuloy pa niyang saad sa caption, “I know Danny’s writing style and ideas so I just had to make this music arrangement for him to bring along to his journey home.
“I took his vocals from his FB post and recorded. His video I synced to audio. I just tweaked a note and rearranged the song structure but I kept everything the way he would have wanted it.”
Nabanggit din ni Lorrie na last year niya unang nabisita sa ospital si Danny matapos mabalitaang sinugod ito sa ospital.
Sey niya, “Last year he called me and said he was sick. I visited him right away. We were together the whole day talking about everything from our past to the present.”
Aniya, “He kept a positive outlook on life even though he was suffering from several medical conditions.”
Ayon pa sa music producer na tila alam ni Danny na siya’y malapit nang mamaalam kaya nakagawa pa ito ng isang “sendoff” song para sa fans.
Saad sa post, “DANNY JAVIER, a man fully aware of his mortality expressed himself in music with lyrics infused with humor.
“He sang in a way that only he could deliver, singing his own sendoff ahead of its time.
“The man who coined ORIGINAL PILIPINO MUSIC (OPM) left us with this song, ‘LAHAT TAYO.’ He wanted to share this with all of you — family, friends and loyal fans,” sabi niya.
Ang “Lahat Tayo” ay mapapakinggan na sa ilang streaming platforms, gaya ng YouTube at Spotify.
Pumanaw si Danny noong October 31 sa edad na 75.
Kinumpirma ito ng anak ng legendary singer na si Justine Javier na dahil raw sa mga naging komplikasyon na dulot ng mga sakit na matagal ng iniinda.
Bukod sa sa kagrupo na si Boboy Garovillo, nakiramay rin ang ilang sikat na singer gaya nina Lea Salonga, Kuh Ledesma, at Ogie Alcasid.
