Boyet de Leon game na game pa ring mag-aksyon sa edad na 65; hindi nagpa-double sa ‘Lolong’

KAHIT senior citizen na, game na game pa rin ang movie icon at award-winning actor na si Christopher de Leon sa paggawa ng action scenes.
Super proud na ibinalita ni Boyet na siya talaga ang gumawa ng mga stunts at action scenes niya sa GMA primetime series na “Lolong” na nagsimula na last Monday sa Telebabad block.
Sa nasabing action-adventure series na pinagbibidahan ni Ruru Madrid, gaganap si Christopher bilang si Armando Banson, isang powerful politician na siyang nasa likod ng pagkawala ng mga buwaya sa kanilang lugar.
Matapang na hinarap ng aktor ang challenge sa paggawa ng kanyang fight scenes at hindi iniasa sa mga stuntman o double.
“I know the techniques already since I’ve been in the business for so long. It’s the art of falling and all that.
“The fight scenes, I have to be on par with Ruru and the rest of the gang. Kapag sinabi ni direk (Rommel Penesa), when the captain says do this, I do that. It’s part of my job.
“I like the discipline of the stance, the movements. It’s part of being an actor. You have to train for it,” pahayag ni Boyet.
“Kaya ang nangyari, nagkataon, binigyan ako ng marami, ang daming (fight scenes), wow! Doing a fight scene with Ruru is challenging. This guy is fast! I have to be fast at the same time, di ba?” sabi pa ni Christopher.
Pero sey ng veteran actor, ang pinaka-challenging at pinakamasaya raw ay ang mga eksena niya sa higanteng buwaya na si Dakila, isang 22-foot animatronic crocodile.
“Ito ang isa sa pinaka-enjoy na eksena na nagawa ko. It was when the big crocodile named Dakila attacked Armando.
“Grabe, noong hinabol siya. Whoaaa! Dakila was trying to eat him. It was trying to eat Armando and I was like shouting and shouting,” pag-alala niya sa nasabing eksena.
Dagdag pa niya, “We were doing it the whole day. I enjoyed it so much. Para kaming mga bata. We were doing scenes with a giant crocodile named Dakila. Actually, isa sa mga cast members si Dakila. Salamat, Dakila!
“Pinakamahirap na kaeksena is, of course, animals and babies and animatronics and CGIs. Sa CGI, wala kang nakikita but you have to act it out like somebody is eating you, like a monster eating you. Talagang mahirap but you have to use your imagination,” dagdag pang kuwento ni Boyet.
Napapanood ang “Lolong” tuwing 8 p.m. sa GMA Telebabad.
