Sinovac, mabibigyan ng EUA bago sumapit ang Pebrero 20 – Galvez

Inaasahan ng gobyerno na mabibigyan ng emergency use of authorization (EUA) ang bakuna laban sa Covid-19 mula sa Chinese company na Sinovac Biotech.

Sa Laging Handa press briefing, sinabi ni NTF Against Covid-19 chief implementer at vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. na maaaprubahan ang EUA sa Sinovac bago sumapit ang Pebrero 20, 2021.

“Iyong EUA po ng Sinovac, maa-approve po before February 20,” pahayag ni Galvez.

“Maganda ang arrangement natin kasi may darating kada buwan. 50,000 doses of Sinovac sa February, tapos 950,00 sa March, tapos one million, two million, 3 million kada buwan,” saad ni Galvez.

Nakapag-secure na ang Pilipinas ng 25 million doses ng bakuna mula sa Sinovac kahit nakatakda pa lamang mag-apply ng EUA sa Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Sa ngayon, sinabi ni Galvez na kinakalap na ng Sinovac ang mga datos sa resulta ng phase 3 clinical trials ng Covid-19 vaccine sa Brazil at Turkey.

“Sinabihan na po kami ng embassy na once na available na po ‘yon, ‘yun po ay ibibigay na sa FDA. Nag-communicate na po ang Sinovac sa FDA,” dagdag pa nito.

Hinihintay na rin aniya ng kumpanya ang approval ng Chinese government para magamit at ma-export ang naturang bakuna.

“More or less, mga first week ng February ay mabibigyan na po ng China ang Sinovac ng emergency use authorization for general use at for export,” ani Galvez.
