UMABOT na sa 112 lugar ang isinailalim sa localized lockdown upang mapigilan ang pagkalat ng coronavirus disease 2019.

Ayon kay Department of Interior and Local Government Sec. Eduardo Año mahalaga na matukoy ang mga lugar na mayroong mataas na kaso ng COVID-19 upang mapigilan ang pagkalat nito.

“Localized lockdown is like hitting COVID-19 at its source which has been proven to be effective especially in the 112 areas where it is currently being implemented. It really works since the hot zones areas are secluded from the rest of the community, hence, stopping the transmission to other communities,” ani Año.

Sinabi naman ni DILG Undersecretary at Spokesperson Jonathan Malaya na sa mga lugar na naka-lockdown ang pinakamarami ay nasa Cordillera Autonomous Region (67); National Capital Region (18), Cebu City (19), tig-isa sa Cavite, Quezon Province, Leyte, at lima sa Cagayan de Oro City.

Ang localized lockdown sa CAR ang nakikitang dahilan kung bakit nananatiling mababa ang bilang ng mga kaso ng COVID-19 sa rehiyon. Sa kasalukuyan ay 109ang kumpirmadong kaso rito at 42 na ang gumaling. Ang rehiyon ay mayroong 1.8 percent fatality rate.

Ipinaalala naman ni Malaya na bago magpatupad ng lockdown ay dapat bumuo muna ang lokal na pamahalaan ng quick response teams (QRTs) na siyang mangangasiwa sa test-trace-treat strategy.

Ang QRT team ay binubuo ng Health Promotion and Prevention Team, Disinfection Teams, Swabbing Teams, Contact Tracing Teams; Medical Evacuation Teams, Law and Order Teams, Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERTS) at Social Amelioration/ Support Teams.
