Fire station lockdown, pasyenteng tinulungan positibo sa COVID-19
ISINARA ang isang istasyon ng bumbero sa Pateros matapos umanong magpositibo ang tinulungan nitong 72-anyos na pasyente sa coronavirus disease 2019.
Ang ikinalulungkot ng Bureau of Fire Protection Pateros Emergency Medical Services ay hindi umano sinabi sa kanila ang buong kalagayan ng kalusugan ng pasyente.
Noong Marso 23 ay humingi ng tulong ang manugang ng pasyente sa Pateros Fire Station upang madala ang pasyente sa ospital na mayroon umanong UTI at walang gana kumain.
“Non-ambulatory, the patient had to be collected from his house, where the attending BFP Pateros emergency medical responders performed the routine check, observing the protocol in transporting and handling all types of patients.”
Sinabi umano ng pamilya ng pasyente na hindi ito inuubo, walang sipon, sore throat at iba pang sintomas ng COVID-19.
“The day after the transport, however, the patient’s family told BFP Pateros that the patient also has pneumonia. BFP Pateros tried to monitor the condition of the patient from then on, but the patient’s family had already gone incommunicado.”
Kinumpirma ng Municipal Health Office na positibo rin ito sa COVID-19.
Agad na ipinag-utos ng Fire District 4 ang pag-lockdown sa BFP Pateros Fire Station ng 14 na araw simula Abril 3.
“In order to continue the services of BFP Pateros, the frontliners of Sta. Ana Fire Substation take charge of manning quarantine control points and decontamination stations; disinfecting barangays; and addressing the fire protection needs of entire Pateros. Sadly, despite their efforts and concern for the community, Sta. Ana Fire Substation frontliners have become the subject of undue and altogether unnecessary public discrimination.”
Nanawagan si BFP NCR Director, SSupt. Gilbert Dolot sa publiko na maging tapat sa pagsasabi ng impormasyon sa mga nagtatanong na health workers upang makagawa ng tamang hakbang ang mga ito.
“Let us be part of the support system for everyone…be the beacon of hope for the hopeless. Let us not, in any way, discriminate one another but, instead, be the source of strength, especially of those who need the most our words and acts of encouragement. Now is the time to show kindness and compassion.”
