Dr. Nicko inaming grabe ang takot bago nasawi sa sumabog na eroplano: Who will protect us?

BUMUHOS sa social media ang pakikiramay para kay Dr. Cenover Nicandro “Nicko” Bautista, isa sa walong pasahero na nasawi sa medical evacuation flight patungong Haneda Airport sa Japan kagabi.

Ayon sa ulat, bigla na lang sumabog at bumagsak ang Lionair chartered plane ilang sandali pagkatapos  mag-take off sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Runway 24.

Sa inisyal na pagsisiyasat ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), maaaring technical problem ang naging sanhi ng aksidente. Patuloy pa rin itong iniimbestigahan.

Sa isang Facebook post ni Dr. Nicko, muli nitong ipinaalala ang kahalagan ng pagsasabi ng totoo ngayong panahon ng krisis, lalo na yung mga may travel history sa mga bansang apektado rin ng Coronavirus pandemic.

Narito ang mensahe ng fallen doctor sa kapwa frontliners bago siya namatay: “WHEN YOU LIE. WE DIE.

“I stand with the medical community in honoring one of our fallen comrade in his battle with COVID-19. He was a frontliner who was fulfilling his line of duty. I’ve heard a lot of wonderful things about him and now he lost his life early, simply because a patient and the family did not bother to disclose their travel history. Just because they thought it was better to lie to their doctors. 

“And because of that 1 lie, 1 has lost his life, while 38 more were quarantined, and a lot more unknown. Just because they thought it was better to lie.

“Consider your actions. We try our best to protect you from this horrid disease, but who will protect us? Kindly do your part. Stay at home. Don’t lie to your doctors. Check your privilege.

“May your soul rest in peace good doctor. We will continue the fight,” aniya pa sa kanyang FB post.

Samantala, ibinahagi naman ng kapatid ni Dr. Nicko na si Ria Bautista sa kanyang mensahe ang isang private post ng doktor.

Si Ria ay vocalist at drummer ng OPM rock band na Paramita at talagang ikinagulat nila ang biglang pagpanaw ni Nicko. Sa FB post ng doktor inamin nitong natatakot rin siya sa kinakaharap na krisis ng buong mundo pero naniniwala siya na matatapos din ito.

“Let’s fight this. And in all honesty, I’m scared as hell…” bahagi ng  private post ng fallen doctor.

Aniya, “I lost my brother on that flight. No words can describe how devastating it is to lose a family member in such a horrific way. How do you process something like this. How. 

“All I know is that he fought like a hero and I can only hope that his fight would not be in vain. RIP, Nicko. I love you my brother. I will honor you forever,” sabi pa ng OPM singer.
