5-anyos nagpositibo sa bagong strain ng coronavirus

SINABI ng Department of Health (DOH) na iniimbestigahan na nito ang kaso ng 5-anyos na bata na bumiyahe sa Cebu City mula sa Wuhan, China, na nagpositibo sa bagong strain ng coronavirus,

Kinumpirma ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III na nanggaling ang batang lalaki mula sa Wuhan, China at na-ospital sa Cebu City dahil sa lagnat, pananakit ng lalamunan at ubo.

“Samples from the patient were first tested at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine and yielded negative results for the Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome-related coronavirus or more often referred to as MERS-COV and severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus,” sabi ni Duque.

“However, the samples tested positive for non-specific pancorona virus assay, and the specimen has been sent to Australia to identify the specific coronavirus strain,” dagdag ni Duque.

Idinagdag ni Duque na kabilang sa mga senyales ng coronavirus ang respiratory symptoms, lagnat, ubo at nahihirapang huminga.

“In severe cases, it could cause pneumonia, respiratory syndrome, kidney failure, and even death,” ayon pa kay Duque.

Umabot na sa 200 ang apektado ng coronavirus sa China kung saan apat na ang namamatay sa outbeak.
