‘First Yaya’ nina Gabby at Marian paano maiiba sa ‘Please be careful’ nina Jodi at Ser Chief?

NOT because the SEA Games had successfully come to a close, being the Philippines as the host country, ay ‘yun na ‘yon.

Sa palasak na lengguwahe ng sinumang berdaderong taga-showbiz, there’s always this line which precedes an exclamation point: Alam na.

Of the participating Southeast Asian nations, mapalad ang tinatapakan nating lupa for having bagged the most number of gold medals. Sana lang, sumasagisag din ito ng ginintuang hangarin ng mga pangunahing opisyales na hindi ginawang ikalakal ang SEA Games para sa personal nilang interes.

As the impending probe begins, harinawang papanagutin ang mga dapat managot most especially those whose minds have been designed to make this country their milking cow.

Sa unang dinig pa lang sa pamagat na First Yaya, top of mind nang papasok ang simpleng takbo kung saan iikot ang kuwento ng aabangang telesrrye ng GMA. Tampok dito si Gabby Concepcion, ang actor na nakatuklas yata ng fountain of youth somewhere out there whose biological age defies his looks.

While ang mga kapanabayan nito have apparently aged sa pisikal na aspeto, Gabby must have incredibly found his way out of accelerating his age.

Billed alongside Gabby is GMA’s Primetime Queen (Ervin, again, let it remain this way) who obviously plays the title role. At siyempre, kapag sinabing yaya or nanny, there’s the inevitable presence of a kid or kids.

Without having to necessarily gloss over the storyline, ang katambal ni Gabby is the yaya to the latter’s kid which, of course, is not pegged on The Sound of Music where Julie Andrews is to Captain Von Trapps’ children.

Locally, mas malapit ang kuwentong ito sa Please Be Careful with my Heart nina Richard Yap at Jodi Sta. Maria ng ABS-CBN. There evolves love in between the amo and the yaya of the child which, as we all know, barely happens in real life. But thanks to fiction, it gives us the license to make things real which are remotely possible.

The thing with the First Yaya, however, sa pagkarinig pa lang ng pamagat ay give-away na agad ang plot, it’s just the scenes which provide an escape from what is easily predictable.
But if only for GMA to get its major female star to work para deserving naman ito of its network title, aba, dapat lang naman. After all, she has had a long breaktime as Sleeping Beauty’s slumber.
