National Artist Kidlat Tahimik eeksena sa CinemaCon PH sa Portugal

MAGPAPALABAS ang Cinema das Filipinas – Nos Cem Anos do Cinema Filipino ng 15 pelikula, kabilang ang “Genghis Khan,” “Himala,” “Balikbayan #1: Memories of Overdevelopment Redux VI,” “Serbis” at “Independencia.”

Ang Cinema das Filipinas ay project ng Philippine Embassies Assistance Program (PEAP) mula sa Film Development Council of the Philippines. Lahat ng pelikulang ipalalabas ay may high definition digital format maliban sa “Serbis” at “Independencia” na ipapalabas sa 35mm.

Ang Pambansang Alagad ng Sining para sa Pelikula na si Kidlat Tahimik ay pupunta sa Portugal kung saan ipalalabas ang dalawa sa kanyang mga obra: “Mababangong Bangungot” at “Balikbayan #1: Me-mories of Overdevelopment Redux VI,” na kaniyang sinimulan noong 1979 at tinapos noong 2015.

Tampok din si Kidlat Tahimik sa Philippine Cinema Conference sa Nob. 12 kasama ang may-akda, Propesor sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas (UP), at Direktor ng UP Film Institute na si Patrick Campos. Dadalo rin sa Philippine Cinema Conference si Film Development Council of the Philippines Chairperson Liza Diño. Magbibigay naman ng panayam si Kidlat Tahimik sa Nob. 27 kung kailan may screening ang “Balikbayan #1: Memories of Overdevelopment Redux VI.”

Nais ng proyekto ng PEAP sa Portugal na ipakilala ang malawak na sinematograpiya ng Pilipinas. “The films we present in this cycle, made between 1950 and 2015, have been divided into three major chapters, which illustrate these three great periods of vast and complex Filipino cinematography,” ayon sa program ng Cinema das Filipinas – Cinemateca Portuguesa.
