Through the years, dapat naka-apak ka sa lupa. Para nagwo-work ka’t nagsa-strive ko to reach that number.

You don’t say you’re number one. You say, ‘We’re shooting to be number one.’ Stay humble.”

That was Joey’s recent statement as reported by a website. Why is he now singing a different tune when years ago he was believed to have taken a swipe at Vice Ganda and It’s Showtime.

“Isang malaking EXCUSE ME lang, HINDI real and organic ang isang bagay na KINOPYA lang. Iba ‘yung developing naturally.”

That was Joey’s rant when Vice called It’s Showtime’s more than 7 million tweets as “REAL and ORGANIC.”

Then again, he was believed to have taken a swipe at Vice when he said, “Like LOVE, ang CAREER ay hindi minamadali. I repeat, wag madaliin ang career. Treat it like LOVE. Wag itulad sa karera ng KABAYO, tapos agad!” he added.

Seemingly affected by the bashing he got that time, he explained, “PEOPLE WHO DON’T UNDERSTAND WILL ALWAYS STAND UNDER YOU. KAYO nagpahiwatig nito. Sino ngayon walang respeto?”

So, why is the laos na comedian seemingly changed his tune? It is because talo na ng Showtime ang Eat Bulaga as recent report said that the former garnered 17.6% against the former which only had 10.5%.
