MAKISALO sa liderato ng Foundation Group ang hangad ng Centro Escolar University Scorpions sa pagsagupa nito sa University of Perpetual Help Altas sa kanilang 2019 PBA D-League game Lunes sa Paco Arena, Maynila.

Pinapaboran ang Scorpions kontra Altas matapos nitong itala ang 93-76 panalo kontra Diliman College-Gerry’s Grill noong Pebrero 19 at hangad nilang mapanatili ang kanilang momentum sa kanilang alas-4 ng hapon na main game.

Ang Scorpions ay pamumunuan ni Senegalese big man Maodo Malick Diouf na gumawa ng 15 puntos, 17 rebound, tatlong assist at dalawang shotblock sa kanyang unang paglalaro sa liga.

“I think he has really improved tremendously,” sabi ni CEU head coach Derrick Pumaren patungkol sa kanyang 19-anyos na sentro. “He’s been with us for less than a year. He only came to us in July, so wala pa siyang one year sa akin. He has not tasted how to lift weights nung dumating sa amin, but he’s improved a lot.”

Makakatuwang ni Diouf ang mga beteranong sina Tyron Chan at Rich Guinitaran para tulungan ang CEU na makasalo ang Metropac-San Beda at Valencia City Bukidnon-SSCR sa itaas ng team standings.

Hindi naman magiging madaling katunggali ang Perpetual na pangungunahan nina Ben Adamos, Keith Pido, Edgar Charcos, Tonton Peralta at Kim Aurin.

Ang Altas ay magmumula sa 85-75 pagkatalo sa Metropac-San Beda noong Pebrero 21.

Magtutuos naman ang Masterpiece Clothing-Trinity University of Asia at Diliman College-Gerry’s Grill sa alas-2 ng hapon na laro.
