Contractual bigyan din ng 14th month pay
DAPAT umanong isama ng gobyerno sa mga bibigyan ng 14th month pay ang mga contractual employees.
Ayon kay Kabayan Rep. Ron Salo lubhang napag-iiwanan ang 660,000 job order at contracts of service personnel sa gobyerno.
Ang endo workers sa gobyerno ang bumubuo sa 27 porsyento ng 2.42 milyong namamasukan sa pamahalaan.
“Certainly, they deserve the 13th month and the 14th month pay, not because of humanitarian reasons, but because like regular government employees, they also perform public service delivery day in and day out in government offices,” ani Salo.
Bukod dito, isinulong ni Salo na isabatas na rin pagbibigay ng 14th month pay sa pribadong sektor.
Upang makumbinsi ang pribadong sektor maaari umanong bigyan ng pabor ng gobyerno ang mga ito.
“Perhaps the Labor Department can find ways to relax or provide exemptions to some stringent administrative regulations for complying businesses,” dagdag pa ng solon. “Maybe some documentary requirements can be set aside or no longer mandatory if the employers provide the 14th month pay and yearend bonus.”
