P25 dagdag sa daily minimum wage kulang

DISMAYADO ang iba’t ibang grupo sa napagkasunduang P25 dagdag sa minimum na arawang sahod sa National Capital Region.

Sinabi ng Associated Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines na hindi matutugunan ng dagdag na ito ang itinaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin at ang pagbaba ng halaga ng pera.

“It is not a wage increase in real terms and falls far short of addressing the lost value of NCR wages in the face of the spiraling prices of basic goods,” saad ng ALU-TUCP.

Ayon kay ALU-TUCP spokesperson Alan Tanjusay muling tinalo ng boto ng kinatawan ng gobyerno at employer ang boses ng mga manggagawa kaya kakarampot na pagtataas lamang ang inaprubahan ng Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board.

“The Board has once again failed its mandate to strike a balance between labor and capital by depressing wages. The Board is acting on the long disproven myth that there economic benefits will trickle down to workers,” ani Tanjusay.

Ang minimum wage sa kasalukuyan ay P512 kada araw.

Sinabi naman ng Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino na malayo ang P537 arawang sahod sa P1,400 daily living wage na itinakda ng National Economic and Development Authority na kailangan ng isang pamilya na may limang miyembro upang mabuhay ng maayos.
