Gretchen mayaman, maganda, matalino at proud kabit, pero may kulang pa rin…

Ronnie Carrasco III - June 16, 2018 - 12:25 AM

OO nga naman, Gretchen Barretto has never denied she’s a mistress to Tonyboy Cojuangco, her partner of more than 24 years (and still counting). A proud mistress at that.

In a changing society kung saan nagbabago rin ang pananaw ng mga tao on family issues, we may look down or sneer at Gretchen.

Wala naman yata kasing babae who has the guts to come forward and say, “Oo, kabit ako!”

But the off-and-on actress asserts she is, pakialam n’yo? We admire the stance compared to a legal wife who lives in hell kapiling ang kanyang asawa. The Tonyboy-Gretchen partnership—in spite of it all—feels like heaven to the mistress.
Totoong one cannot have it all.

Greta possesses a goddess-like beauty. Matalino. A woman both of form and substance, idagdag pa ang kanyang yaman.

‘Yun man lang maging masaya sa piling ni Tonyboy kahit isa siyang kabit ay ibigay na natin sa kanya, after all, she doesn’t trample upon anybody’s rights.

But again, Gretchen can’t have it all. Alam naman natin ang kanyang family issues most especially with her Mommy Inday. ‘Yun naman ang bawi sa kanyang blissful partnership with Tonyboy.

Saka in this world where one gets stuck in a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don’t situation, ang mahalaga’y one goes on with what he believes is right and pleasing to God.

Let’s give it to her.

Masaya ang buong industriya sa ipinagkaloob na parangal kay Ms. Marichu Maceda (or Manay Ichu in showbiz circles) ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) sa pagdiriwang ng mga tinaguriang Mothers of Philippine Cinema.

Tinanggap ni Manay Ichu ang parangalan nitong June 9 sa Cinematheque Centre Manila.
Having hailed from the family who owned Sampaguita Pictures, na aktibo noong dekada 30 hanggang 70 mga klasikong pelikula ang naiprodyus nito.

Kasama si Manay Ichu sa pagtatag ng Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund), Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), Philippine Motion Pictures Producers Association, Experimental Cinema of the Philippines at ang FDCP.

“Love your craft and love the industry,” ang lagi niyang iniiwang mensahe sa mga kasamahan sa industriya.

Parang birthday lang noon ng yumaong Kuya Germs ang month-long animniversary celebration ng Celebrity Bluff.

If tables were turned last Saturday, sa ikalawang sultada naman ng kanilang fete ay kaabang-aabang ang sikat na ngayong grupong Ex-Batallion.

We must admit that we’re no sucker for their brand of music, pero sabi nga, one cannot argue with success.

For most millennials, however, it’s a delight to see the members hindi sa pagtatanghal kundi kung who they fare in a competition tulad Celebrity Bluff.

Kaya make way for Bosx1ne (pronounced Boss One), Flow G, Skusta Clee (pronounced Skasta Kli), Brando, Emcee Rhen and King Badger.

Meanwhile, it was in June last year nang magbalik sa ere ang nag-iisang comedy game show after a period of lull.

Close to our heart ang Celebrity Bluff if only for the fact na kinaaadikan ito ng aming mismong ina, na nag-aabang ng mga pasabog ng mga celebrity players.

One thing about this Eugene Domingo-hosted program, naaaliw ka na, may natututunan ka pa.

Saan ka pa?
