MAGLALABAN-LABAN ang limang de-kalibreng pelikula para sa Best Film category ng 2nd Eddys Awards ng Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) ngayong darating na Hunyo.

Ang limang nominado bilang pinakamagaling na pelikulang Filipino ngayong taon ay ang “Birdshot” (TBA Studios); “Deadma Walking” (T-Rex Entertainment); “Respeto” (Cinemalaya Foundation, ArkeoFilms, Dogzilla); “Smaller And Smaller Circles” (TBA Studios); at “Unexpectedly Yours” (Star Cinema).

Para naman sa kategoryang Best Actress, makikipagtagisan ng galing kay Megastar Sharon Cuneta (Unexpectedly Yours) sina Joanna Ampil (Ang Larawan); Mary Joy Apostol (Birdshot); Bela Padilla (100 Tula Para Kay Stella); at Alessandra de Rossi (Kita Kita).

Paglalabanan naman nina Abra (Respeto); Joshua Garcia (Love You To The Stars And Back); Edgar Allan Guzman (Deadma Walking); Aga Muhlach (Seven Sundays); at Ronaldo Valdez (Seven Sundays) ang Best Actor award.

Tatlong special awards din ang ipamimigay ng Eddys ngayong taon: ang Joe
Quirino Award ay igagawad sa yumaong movie reviewer at professor na si Mario Hernando (Posthumous); Manny Pichel Award ay ibibigay sa Entertainment Editor at columnist na si Ricky Lo; at ang Producer of the Year ay igagawad kay Vic del Rosario, Jr., ng Viva Films.

Bibigyan din ng special tribute (Posthumous) si Mario Hernando, producer Donna Villa, ang mga direktor na sina Maryo J. delos Reyes, Soxy Topacio, Gil Portes, Maning Borlaza, Argel Joseph, talent managers Cornelia “Angge” Lee, Alfie Lorenzo, ang aktres na sina Zeny Zabala, Isabel Granada, actor-politician Herminio Bautista, award-winning veteran actor  Bernardo Bernardo, Romeo Vasquez, Chinggoy Alonzo, Hashtags member Franco Hernandez at Rolly Quizon.
