PNoy, Sereno inireklamo sa void CJ appointment

 Naghain ng reklamo ang isang abugado na may kaugnayan sa Volunteer Against Crime and Corruption sa Ombudsman laban kay dating Pangulong Benigno Simeon Aquino III at Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.     Kasama rin sa kaso sina Judicial and Bar Council Executive Director Annaliza Ty-Capacite at JBC chief ng Office of the Selection and Nomination Richard Pascual.     Inireklamo ng graft si Aquino dahil binigyan umano nito ng pabor si Sereno ng italaga niya bilang Chief Justice sa kabila ng hindi pagsunod sa requirement.     Ang reklamo ay ibinase sa pahayag ni SC Associate Justices Teresita de Castro at Diosdado Peralta.     “During the resumption of the (impeachment complaint) hearing of the House committee on justice on February 12, 2018, it was determined that Sereno’s appointment was void from the start,” saad ng reklamo.     Hindi umano nakapagsumite si Sereno ng kanyang Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Networth mula 1986-2006 noong siya ay propesor sa UP College of Law.     Sumulat umano si Sereno JBC upang huwag ng hanapin ang kanyang SALN. Ang naturang sulat ay hindi umano napag-usapan ng JBC gayundin ang psychiatric evaluation kay Sereno na hindi umano pasado sa pamantayan para maging CJ.     “Sereno’s conspiracy with Capacite and Pascual may be inferred from the facts. She also acted in bad faith when she sought exemption from the 10-year SALN requirement with the Executive Committee of the JBC though not entitled thereto—for not attempting to comply,” saad ng reklamo.
