Discrepancy sa tax rekord ni Sereno nasilip ng BIR

  May nakitang ‘discrepancies’ ang Bureau of Internal Revenue sa tax record ni Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.     Pero tumanggi si BIR Deputy Commissioner Arnel Guballa na isiwalat sa pagdinig ng House committee on justice kahapon kung anu-ano ito dahil kakailanganin umano ng pahintulot mula sa Office of the President alinsunod sa Section 270 ng National Internal Revenue Code.     “We have made observations, findings on the declarations of the chief justice but as of the moment, we are still waiting for the approval of the Office of the President wherein we are barred by Section 270 of the Tax Code,” ani Guballa.     Dahil dito ay naghain ng mosyon si Misamis Occidental Rep. Henry Oaminal para magpalabas ng subpoena duces tecum ang komite upang makuha ang dokumentong ito.     Pinaimbestigahan ng komite sa BIR ang tax rekord ni Sereno upang malaman kung nagbayad ito ng tamang buwis ng kumita umano ng P37 milyon sa pagiging abugado ng gobyerno sa kaso laban sa Philippine International Air Terminals Co. Inc., ang nagtayo ng Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.     Ilang kongresista ang nagtangka na pigain si Guballa subalit iginiit nito na hindi niya maaaring ilabas ang dokumento.     “As of the moment, we are just in the committee hearing on this. If on the impeachment court in the Senate then by all means we will provide them,” dagdag pa ni Guballa. 30
