PITO na ang napaulat na namatay dahil sa pananalasa ng supertyphoon Lawin matapos namang bayuhin ang Northern Luzon.
Sinabi ni Ricardo Jalad, executive director ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) na natanggap nila mula sa lokal na pamahalaan ang ulat hinggil sa mga nasawi, bagamat biniberipika pa ito.
Idinagdag ni Jalad na kabilang sa mga nasawi ay mula sa Ilocos region, dalawa mula sa Cagayan, at apat mula sa Cordillera.
Nag-landfall si Lawin sa Peñablanca, Cagayan noong Miyerkules ng gabi, dahilan para mawalan ng suplay ng kuryente at linya ng komunikasyon sa Northern Luzon.
Batay sa ulat ng NDRRMC, 90,850 katao ang inilikas sa Northern at Southern Luzon, at Bicol region.
“As of initial assessment by the NDRRMC, there were 3,919 families or 15,328 persons displaced and 3,825 families or 14,895 persons are currently in evacuation centers,” sabi ni Jalad.
