Erap ipinag-utos ang pag-aresto sa 16 na opisyal, pulis ng Maynila isinangkot sa droga
IPINAG-UTOS ni Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada ang pag-aresto sa 16 na opisyal ng pamahalaan at mga pulis na isinasangkot sa droga.
“Government officials who are involved in drugs do not deserve any mercy. They’re even worse than the ordinary street pushers because they took an oath to uphold the law and serve the people,” sabi ni Estrada.
Hindi naman pinangalanan ni Estrada ang isinasangkot sa droga na mga opisyal at pulis bagamat tinawag silang “high-value targets” sa drug list ng Manila Police District (MPD).
Nangako si Estrada ng suporta kay MPD director Senior Supt. Joel Coronel sa paghabol sa mga sangkot sa droga na mga opisyal at pulis mula sa city hall, barangay, at mga ahensiya ng gobyerno na nakabase sa Maynila, at sa MPD.
“They’re both elected and appointed (officials). Some are drug users, coddlers, traffickers, or protectors, including from the PNP,” sabi ni Coronel.
“We have been monitoring them. Once we are done with the validation and it proved positive, we will conduct an operation—entrapment, arrest or neutralization,” ayon pa kay Coronel.
