Around this time last year, tinanghal na Best Actress si Aiko Melendez sa Manhattan International Film Festival para sa pelikulang “Asintado”, a Cinemalaya entry na nagpanalo kay Louie bilang Best Director.
This year, direk Louie is joining Kasakhstan International Film Festival where he’s fielding “Area”, ang pelikulang pinagbibidahan ni Ai Ai delas Alas who plays an aging sex worker.
In all likelihood, mukhang there’s an ace up direk Louie’s sleeve anew if we go by the pattern. Hindi nalalayo ng spelling ng Aiko at Ai Ai whose respective entries bear single-word titles that begin with letter “A”.
So, hindi kaya malayong mag-Best Actress si Ai Ai sa film festival sa nasabing transcontinental country? At bakit naman hindi?
