Palasyo kay Poe: Respetuhin mo ang batas

SINABIHAN ng Palasyo si Sen. Grace Poe na dapat niyang irespeto ang batas matapos naman ang pahayag ng huli na sina dating Interior secretary Mar Roxas at Vice President Jejomar Binay ang nasa likod ng desisyon ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na nagdidiskwalipika sa kanya sa pagtakbo sa 2016 presidential polls.
Sa isang briefing, iginiit ni Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda na dapat lamang na sundin ni Poe ang proseso ng batas.
“As a candidate running for national elections, it is important for us to respect the rule of law. These are institutions ordained by the Constitution and the Constitution was ratified by the people. So, we can only ask everyone, all the candidates, to please respect the process and respect the rule of law,” sabi ni Lacierda.
Idinagdag pa ni Lacierda na maaari pa namang iapela ni Poe ang desisyon ng Comelec second division matapos namang paboran nito ang petisyon na inihain ni Atty. Estrella Elamparo na kumukuwestiyon sa citizenship at residency ng senador.
Ayon pa kay Lacierda, hindi matatawaran ang integridad ng mga opisyal na itinalaga ni Pangulong Aquino sa mga constitutional.
“Mahalaga kasi na galangin natin ‘yung proseso, galangin natin ang rule of law. Kung sakaling magbago ang isip nila, ano ang ibig sabihin ‘non? E binatikos na nila ‘yung Comelec, e ‘di mali ulit ang decision nila, hindi ba?” ayon pay Lacierda.
