Mixed martial arts champion siningil ng P6K ng BOC para sa championship belt
INIREKLAMO ng Pinoy mixed martial arts champion na si Jujeath Nagaowa ang Bureau of Customs (BOC) matapos siyang singilin ng P6,000 para sa kanyang iniuwing championship belt.
Ayon kay Nagaowa, 27, umabot ng halos P6,000 ang buwis na hiningi ng BOC para sa kanyang napanalunang Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA) light flyweight championship belt na ipinadala sa bansa noong isang buwan buhat sa Macau, China.
Sinabi ni Nagaowa na wala siyang ideya kung saan nakuha ng BOC na aabot sa $400 ang halaga ng kanyang belt na kanyang napanalunang noong Hunyo 6 sa Forum de Macau laban kay Luo Yu Jie, ng China.
“I do not know how they came up with that price but, as far as I know, that should have been exempted from tax because it is a prize,” sabi ni Nagaowa.
Aniya, gumastos siya ng P5,819 para makuha ang pinaghirapang belt noong Hulyo 2.
