Mayor Cayetano kinasuhan sa isinarang session hall

Kakasuhan ng Office of the Ombudsman si Taguig City Mayor Laarni Cayetano kaugnay ng pagsasara niya ng session hall upang hindi makapagsesyon ang mga konsehal noong 2010.
Bukod kay Cayetano kakasuhan din ng paglabag sa Article 143 ng Revised Penal Code si officer-in charge City Administrator Jose Montales.
Ang kaso ay nag-ugat sa pagpapaalis umano sa Sangguniang Panlungsod sa session hall at paglilipat sa kanila sa isang maliit na kuwarto sa city auditorium noong Agosto 2010.
Dahil dito, napilitan umano ang mga konsehal na magsagawa ng sesyon sa hagdan at sa iba’t ibang venue. Nangyari umano ito sa 14 na sesyon ng SP.
Ipinagbabawal sa Article 143 ang pagbabawal o pagharang sa pagsasagawa ng pagpupulong ng local legislative body.
Hindi binigyan ng bigat ni Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales ang paliwanag ni Cayetano na ang pag-alis ng session hall ay bahagi ng reengineering at reorganizational plan sa siyudad dahil wala umanong plano o project study para patunayan ito.
“The documentary evidence, as well as respondents’ own admissions, belied their claim that any ‘reorganizational or reengineering plan’ with respect to city hall offices actually existed,” saad ng resolusyon.
